MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of St. Francis de Sales School is to
provide our students a Catholic Education which includes character development
to be respectful, reverent and responsible citizens who will be successful in
the changing world.

Our Holy Season of Lent began with Ash Wednesday on February 17. These seven weeks take us to the Holy Day of Easter Sunday, April 4. We journey on the paths of prayer and fasting during Lent.

SUMMER SCHOOL - We will again offer summer school for grades 1 through 7 this year, cost will be $50. Information will be available in April. Please work with your children daily so they are successful during the school year.
REGISTRATION 2010-2011 AND TUITION
-
Registration packets were sent
home to parents via the students in January. Please call our office if you did
not receive one. We are now accepting registration for new students, so please
get your registration in as soon as possible so your child/children do not lose
their seat in the classroom.
CISE SCHOLARSHIP/TUITION AID - Thanks to CISE Board fund raising efforts in 2009, our parents may receive tuition assistance again for the 2010-2011 school year. The amount you receive towards your tuition will be determined by your tuition aid application. You are required to fill out a financial aid form.
ARCHITECTURE BY CHILDREN – There will be an “Architecture by Children” presentation that will be held on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 2:00 PM by Grade 7.

ACCREDITATION –
Our school will have an external review by five
principals on March 2 and March 3. They will be evaluating our school
improvement plan for 2010-2011.
EDLINE GRADES AND PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES – Conferences were held on Thursday, February 11 and Thursday, February 18. If you were unable to attend, please contact your child's teacher to reschedule your meeting. Please review your child’s grades daily on EdLine. Call the school if you still need a password.
TEACHER IN-SERVICE - Students will not have school on Friday, March 19, due to Teacher In-Service.
FISH
FRY –
Our Fish Frys began on Friday, February 19 and
will continue until and
including Friday, March 26. Please come out and support the P.T.O. Dinner is
served from 5:30 - 8:00 PM in our cafeteria. We have a varied menu which
includes macaroni and cheese and pizza for non-fish lovers. The cost of a fish
dinner with macaroni and cheese or French fries, and cole slaw is $7.00 per
adult
and $5.00 per child.

END OF THIRD GRADING PERIOD: MARCH 18 - Our third grading period ends on Thursday, March 18. Please work with your child to see that all class work is turned in so credit can be given.
SPORTS - Congratulations and thanks to all our girls and boys who participated in CYO Basketball and Volleyball this year. Hats off to all our coaches for their dedication and volunteerism with our youth. Our annual Athletics Awards Program, sponsored by the P.T.O. will be held on Saturday, April 17 at 4:00 PM.
TERRA NOVA TESTS GRADES 2, 4, 6 AND 8 – Grades 2, 4, 6 and 8 test results were sent home to parents with report cards in January. If you would like an interpretation of the results, please call Dr. Shula at 513-961-1953 ex: 0.
EASTER BREAK – The last day of school will be Thursday, April 1, 2010 and we will resume school with our regular hours on Monday, April 12, 2010. Enjoy your break!

EDCHOICE VOUCHERS - The State of Ohio has a program that will pay full tuition to a student who is now attending a school that is on academic emergency or a returning EdChoice student who is already at St. Francis de Sales School. STEP PROGRAM - U.C. AWARDS – We are thankful for the Student Award and Incentive Program sponsored by the University of Cincinnati.
